07-June-2012 - Youth policy high on the agenda: Karaganda session
The regular 11th session of the Youth Policy Committee under the President of Kazakhstan will be held on Thursday-Friday (June 7-8) in Karaganda, the regional internal policy department says.
"This will be the third visiting session of the Committee. Earlier sessions were held in Almaty and Petropavlovsk," the organizers note. Deputy akims (mayors) and secretaries of youth councils of Astana, Akmola and Karaganda regions are expected to attend the session. Rectors of HEIs and heads of public bodies are invited as well. The event is thought to bring together more than 200 participants.
A workshop on "Effective planning and monitoring of the youth policy implementation at a local level" will take place on the first day according to the program. The following day meetings with youth are planned. The working session of the Youth Policy Committee under the President of Kazakhstan will be conducted in the afternoon. The session will focus on the problems of youth employment, implementation of "With diploma to a village" program, "Zhassyl Yel" and implementation of the state youth policy.
The Youth Policy Committee under the President of Kazakhstan was set up by the presidential decree#625 as of July 1, 2008. It includes 29 members - heads of public bodies, republican and regional youth organizations, scientists and so on.
