The US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan Kenneth Fairfax arrived for an information visit to the Karaganda region, the press service of the region's Akim reported.
"Since the 20 years of the diplomatic relations' establishment, a mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States continues to grow. The heads of our states attach great importance to nuclear disarmament. Kazakhstan a unique country with the policy of nuclear non-proliferation that voluntarily renounced nuclear weapons stockpile," Akim of the Karaganda region Abelgazi Kusainov said.
"Production of the region's companies, in particular, copper, coal, iron and steel is exported to more than 50 countries. Foreign trade turnover with the United States in the first half of 2012 amounted to USD 17 million," A. Kusainov said.
